IRCTC Rupay SBI Credit Card is a co-branded railway card from SBI Card, in partnership with IRCTC. You get 10.80% benefit on AC class rail tickets in the non-peak season, and 4.80% benefit in peak travel season.

You also get complimentary railway lounge access.

Pros & Cons of IRCTC Rupay SBI card

Pros

  • Good benefit rate of upto 10.80% on AC railway tickets – 10.80% in non-peak season, and 4.80% in peak season.
  • You also get complimentary access to railway lounges – once per quarter.

Cons

  • Benefit rate on non-railway spends is low, hence you need to look at other credit cards to earn higher rewards on non-railway spends like shopping, fuel, bill payments etc.
  • There is no discount on non-AC rail tickets.

1 reward point = ₹1. Reward points are transferred to your IRCTC account and can be used to book AC class rail tickets at IRCTC. You can redeem reward points only against full fare of the ticket, part redemption of points and balance payment from your card is not allowed. Reward points are valid for 3 years.

Important points to note-
– You need to link your loyalty number with your IRCTC account, else you will not receive reward points (11 digit loyalty number is mentioned on the IRCTC SBI Card below cardholder name)
– Reward points will be transferred to your IRCTC account on 3rd of every month
– Reward points are given only to the primary cardholder, even if the primary cardholder books tickets of family members also.
– Reward points are given only on online rail bookings on IRCTC. Reward points are not given on ticket purchases at the Passenger Reservation System counters.

Application Process

Step-by-step guide

Online application processThe easiest way to apply is to click here – APPLY NOW , you shall be taken to the card application page on the SBI Card website. You can also visit the official website of SBI Card and fill out the application form.

Steps :
– Fill out the online application form – personal details like mobile phone number, emplyment, income, Aadhar / PAN number
– Click ‘Submit’ and you will receive an instant decision on the application basis the information provided
– If your application is approved, you will receive a call from SBI Card team for verification
– Post necessary verification, the card is issued to you

Virtual card : In addition to this, SBI Card team will send an SMS on your registered mobile number with a link to generate your e-card. With this e-card you can view your credit card details digitally, even before your physical card reaches you, and start shopping online instantly.
Offline (face to face)  application processYou can visit any of the nearest branches of SBI Card, and talk to an executive regarding the process.

Necessary documents and verification

Required documents   – PAN card

– Copy of Aadhaar card (with first 8 digits masked) or any valid government address proof

– Income documents – salary slip, income tax return etc. may be required depending upon the credit card eligibility & policy
